Dr Drucker taught us that one of the tasks of management is to manage social impacts and social responsibilities. Business is an organ of the society and the well-being of the society is essential for the business¡¯s survival. Therefore all business should take up responsibilities for the employees, community and environment. Chinese executives and entrepreneurs are not so conscious in such task and traditional business schools are not taking up the role they should have. Some schools have specific stand-alone courses for social responsibility or business ethics subjects. However, this is not the idea of Dr Drucker. The concepts of managing social impacts and social responsibilities should be contained throughout all management courses. It is not an independent subject that can be separated from leadership, strategic thinking, marketing and sales, organizational behavior or financial and accounting subjects. Moral responsibility should be included in all the management programs. Leadership without ethical values or integrity is just a joke, and this joke caused the recent financial tsunami in Wall Street and later became economy crisis of the whole world.
When Dr Drucker talked about management, his major focus is on people, human beings, precious creation of God. He emphasized the significance of mission, effectiveness, productivity, responsibility, contribution and result but not ranking, privileges, special rights, or power.
