Drucker Centennial events close

The activities in commemoration of the 100^th birth of Mr. Peter F. Drucker have come to an end. The activities were launched in Beijing, Nanchang, Jinan, Shanghai and Hong Kong from October 16-19 alongside with commemorations in other parts of the world. The activities, including lectures and dialogues, have had a great social impact, enabling several thousand managers and business executives to have a deeper understanding and inspirations from the management theories developed by Peter Drucker, “father of modern management science”.

1.      The Drucker Centennial Events (1)

--- Commemorative activities in Beijing

The Drucker centennial opened at the Grand Hyatt Beijing on the afternoon of October 16. The theme was “Enlightenment from Peter F. Drucker”. Present were 300 alumni of Peter Drucker Academy and disseminators of Drucker’s ideas.

The commemorative meeting featured five theme lectures and one round-table dialogue. American leadership expert Frances Hesselbein, European management guru Fredmund Malik and several distinguished Chinese guests gave lectures and presentations.

2.        The Drucker Centennial Events (2)

--- 4^th Drucker management forum in Jinan

The 4^th Drucker management forum, an important part of the Peter Drucker centennial, opened at the auditorium of the Judges Training School in Jinan on October 17. The forum was also held in Nanchang, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The theme of the forums in Jinan, Nanchang and Shanghai was “Challenges to Management in Turbulent Times”.

The forum in Jinan featured six theme lectures and one round-table dialogue. Business executives from the Republic of Korea, the Middle East and China’s Jiangxi and Shandong shared their views on Drucker’s strategy, innovation and diversification and on the application of Drucker’s ideas in turbulent times from the perspective of global economic recession and future development trend. More than 400 business executives from Shandong attended the forum and spoke highly of the result.

3.        The Drucker Centennial Events (3)

--- 4^th Drucker management forum in Nanchang

The 4^th Drucker management forum was held at the Jiangxi Hotel in Nanchang on October 17. More than 500 business executives from Jiangxi Province attended.

The forum featured five keynote lectures and two round-table dialogues. American leadership experts Frances Hesselbein and professor Ira A. Jackson, the dean of Claremont Graduate University's Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, delivered important speeches. Chinese entrepreneurs also shared their experiences in applying Drucker’s theories. Trainees of Drucker EDP in Jiangxi also shared their experiences in the application of Drucker’s theories at the dialogues.

4.        The Drucker Centennial Events (4)

---- 4^th Drucker management forum in Shanghai

The 4^th Drucker management forum was held at the Pudong Cadres College, Shanghai, on October 18. More than 1,000 business executives from all parts of the country attended.

Management masters and business executives from the United States, Europe, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland made important speeches and exchanged views at the dialogue. The forum featured seven keynote speeches and one round-table dialogue. Mr. Shao Minglu, founder of the Peter Drucker Academy made concluding remarks. Entitled “Future that has already happened”, the remarks won a high appraisal from the participants.

5.        The Drucker Centennial Events (4)

----4^th Drucker management forum in Hong Kong

The forum, as part of the Drucker centennial in China, was held in Hong Kong on October 19. The theme was “Creating tomorrow today”. More than 300 managers in Hong Kong attended.

The diversity of activities and rich contents of the forum have enabled participants to have a deeper understanding of Drucker’s management theories. The participants expressed high appreciation for the royalty to profession exhibited by the disseminators of Drucker’s ideas.

The series of activities held in China have had a deep global imprint and won the high appraisal from all over the world. The excellent achievements and contributions made in spreading Drucker’s theories have left a profound impression in the areas of the study of Drucker’s ideas in the world. Peter F. Drucker Academy has compiled a book “Drucker in Action in China”, which incorporates the achievements in the practice and research by management experts and entrepreneurs who studied in the Drucker Academy. It is a systematic record of the application of Drucker’s ideas and their influence in China. This is one of the major achievements of the Drucker centennial.
