Centennial Overview
The year of 2009 marks the 100th birthday of Peter F. Drucker, the father of modern management; author of 39 books on organizational behavior, innovation, economy, and society; and winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. With financial markets in crisis, political institutions around the globe in turmoil, and much of the world continuing an uneasy transition to ¡°knowledge work,¡± Drucker¡¯s insights on effective management, ethical leadership, and social responsibility have never been more essential. Quite simply, we need Drucker now more than ever.
To pay tribute to the guru, global celebrations will be held in this year to commemorate Drucker centennial. Peter F. Drucker Academy, the only educational organization that was personally authorized and named by Dr. Drucker in China, is on the mission of making available to China¡¯s Knowledge Workers the Study and Practice of Drucker's Legacy. Between 16th and 19th of October, the Academy will host Drucker Centennial Celebrations and The Fourth Peter F. Drucker Management Forums in five cities--Beijing, Nanchang, Jinan, Shanghai and Hong Kong, which will be a spectacular celebration of about four thousand entrepreneurs and executives in China. The main theme of the Forums is ¡°Management Challenges in Times of Great Change¡±. Peter F. Drucker Academy is organizing this event to reflect the Drucker Legacy and provide today¡¯s leaders courage and knowledge to manage in this turbulent time. |
